Originating from a natural genetic mutation in Toronto, Canada in 1966, the Sphynx was selectively developed through careful breeding programs in North America and Europe over the following decades. Despite their otherworldly appearance — wrinkled brow, enormous bat-like ears, lemon-shaped eyes, and a body entirely free of a traditional coat — the Sphynx is one of the warmest cats you will ever touch, their skin often compared to heated suede or velvet. Famously sociable and dog-like in their loyalty, they follow their people from room to room, demand closeness, and have earned a devoted global following unlike almost any other domestic breed.

This Sphynx cat coir doormat features a second portrait-style illustration of a Sphynx — an upright frontal pose with the Sphynx's striking face forming the O in the word HOME — a bold, breed-proud welcome for every visitor who crosses your threshold. Whether you know them as Dobby, Mr. Bigglesworth, Bingus, or simply Yoda, this design brings breed pride to your front door. The Sphynx's striking face forms the O in the word HOME, making it a clever and unmistakable welcome for every visitor.

What makes this doormat unique?
This is the second illustration in the Sphynx doormat range, and it takes a different approach — an upright frontal pose that emphasises the Sphynx's wrinkled chest, long neck, and commanding presence. The face is set directly into the word HOME as the letter O, so the breed becomes part of the message rather than a decoration alongside it. Printed onto natural coir using UV-cured inks, the design holds its detail and colour far better than standard screen-printed mats — a personal, considered piece for any Hairless Cat household.
