Afghan Hound Peeking Doormat #2 | Peeking Affie Welcome Mat

The Afghan Hound, also known as the Afghan, Affie, and Persian Greyhound, is a sighthound developed in Afghanistan for hunting across demanding terrain. Its long, silky coat helped protect it against the cold of mountainous regions, while its powerful build and keen eyesight suited the pursuit of fast-moving quarry. Afghan Hounds were brought to Britain in the early 20th century and were recognised by the American Kennel Club in 1926. Behind their aristocratic appearance is an independent, affectionate dog with a surprisingly playful streak.

This Afghan Hound coir doormat features an Afghan Hound illustration peeking in from the left edge of the mat, with bold black lines highlighting the Affie's long face and flowing coat. Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways — not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A distinctive, personal gift for any Afghan Hound household — far more thoughtful than anything off the shelf.
