Appaloosa Horse Peeking Doormat #1 | Peeking Appy Welcome Mat

The Appaloosa, affectionately nicknamed the Appy and historically called the Palouse Horse, is a Spotted Horse with a story as distinctive as its coat. The breed is closely tied to the skilled horse breeders of the Nez Perce people, a history sometimes reflected in the broad older term “Indian Horse”, rather than a name unique to Appaloosas. Its name grew from “a Palouse horse,” referring to the Palouse region of the Pacific Northwest. Alongside their varied spotted coats, Appaloosas are known for mottled skin, striped hooves and visible white around the eyes.

This Appaloosa Horse Peeking Doormat features a spotted horse peeking from the left edge, with upright ears, a sweeping mane and a detailed face inside a black rectangular border. Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A distinctive gift for Appaloosa lovers and equestrian enthusiasts, bringing the familiar charm of a spotted horse to every homecoming.
