Azawakh Doormat #1 | Tuareg Sloughi Welcome Mat

The Azawakh, also known as the Tuareg Sloughi or Sighthound of the Tuareg, pairs an elegant, long-legged outline with a watchful nature and a close bond with its family. This West African sighthound comes from the Sahel, where it has long lived alongside Tuareg and other local communities as a hunting companion and guardian. Its lean build and short coat suit the region’s hot climate, while its keen eyesight helps it spot movement across open ground. An Azawakh may take its time getting to know new people, but that reserved first impression can give way to affectionate companionship with those it trusts.

This Azawakh peeking coir doormat features a hound peeking from the left edge, with a gently tilted head, folded ears, expressive eyes and a long, narrow muzzle inside a black rectangular border. Picture that familiar face greeting visitors before your own hound comes to investigate; explore related designs in our Hounds Collection, Sighthounds Collection and Dogs Collection.

Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A thoughtful housewarming, birthday or holiday gift for Azawakh lovers and sighthound enthusiasts, this watchful portrait brings a little hound character to every homecoming.
