Basenji Doormat #1 | Congo Dog Welcome Mat

The Basenji, also known as the Congo Dog or African Barkless Dog, has a long history as a hunting companion in Central Africa. These quick, agile dogs helped hunters find and flush game through dense vegetation, using both their keen eyes and noses. The famous “barkless” nickname does not mean silent: Basenjis can make a distinctive yodel-like sound, along with plenty of other expressive noises. Their neatly curled tails, upright ears and habit of grooming themselves like cats make them memorable companions, with an independent streak that keeps life interesting.

Our Basenji Doormat #1 | Congo Dog Welcome Mat features a Basenji peeking from the left edge, with a gently tilted head, large upright ears, expressive eyes and a slender muzzle with fine whisker details inside a black rectangular border. Picture that familiar curious face greeting visitors before your own Basenji comes to investigate. Explore more distinctive companions in our Hounds Collection, Sighthounds Collection and Dogs Collection.

Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.
