Black and Tan Coonhound Peeking Doormat #1 | Coonhound Welcome Mat

The Black and Tan Coonhound, also known as the Black and Tan or B&T Coonhound, was developed in the United States to follow scent trails across challenging terrain. Its ancestry includes Bloodhounds and the old Black and Tan Virginia Foxhound, helping explain that remarkable nose and those long, pendulous ears. In 1945, it became the first Coonhound breed recognised by the American Kennel Club. Known for a deep, carrying bay on the trail, this determined hound can also be an affectionate, easygoing companion when the day's adventures are done.

Our Black and Tan Coonhound Peeking Doormat #1 | Coonhound Welcome Mat features a Coonhound peeking from the left edge, with long drooping ears, expressive eyes and distinctive eyebrow and muzzle markings framed by a simple black rectangular border. Picture that familiar soulful face greeting visitors before your own hound comes to investigate. Discover more long-eared companions in our Scent Hounds Collection and Dogs Collection.

Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways — not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A welcoming housewarming, birthday or holiday gift for a Black and Tan Coonhound lover, scent-hound enthusiast or anyone charmed by a soulful expression and wonderfully long ears.
