Briard Peeking Doormat #1 | Peeking Berger de Brie Welcome Mat

The Briard, also known as the Chien de Berger Français de Plaine and Berger de Brie, is a French herding breed traditionally used to guide and protect flocks. Its name connects it with the Brie region of France, although these versatile working dogs served farms across the country. During the First World War, Briards worked as sentries, messengers and dogs helping locate wounded soldiers. Recognisable by a long, shaggy coat, bearded face and distinctive double dewclaws on the hind legs, the Briard combines intelligence and independence with deep devotion to its household.

This Briard coir doormat features a shaggy Briard portrait peeking from the left edge, with expressive eyes, a bearded muzzle and upright ears framed by a black rectangular border. Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A distinctive, personal gift for any Briard household, far more thoughtful than anything off the shelf.
