California Giant Salamander Peeking Doormat #1 | Peeking Salamander Welcome Mat

The California Giant Salamander, known scientifically as Dicamptodon ensatus, is a woodland neighbour you're more likely to miss than meet. It spends much of its time tucked beneath logs and leaf litter in California's damp coastal forests, emerging mainly at night to search for food. Cool, rocky streams are its nursery, where the young begin life underwater. Some never leave that watery world behind, keeping their gills into adulthood when a permanent stream provides a suitable home.

This California Giant Salamander Peeking Doormat #1 features a salamander peeking from the edge on the left side, with a broad head, large round eye, patterned body and splayed toes, inside a black rectangular border. Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A thoughtful gift for California Giant Salamander lovers, amphibian enthusiasts and woodland wildlife admirers, this characterful design brings a little forest-stream charm to every homecoming.
