California Sea Lion Peeking Doormat #1 | Peeking Sea Lion Welcome Mat

The California Sea Lion, known scientifically as Zalophus californianus, is the chatty coastal neighbour whose barking often gives it away before you spot it. These sociable marine mammals gather in lively groups on beaches, rocks and even piers. Small external ear flaps help distinguish them from true seals, while hind flippers that rotate beneath their bodies let them walk on land. In the water, powerful front flippers do the paddling, with the rear pair helping them steer.

This California Sea Lion Peeking Doormat #1 features a sea lion peeking from the edge on the left side, with large expressive eyes, a rounded head, a dark nose and long whiskers, inside a black rectangular border. Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A thoughtful gift for California Sea Lion lovers, marine wildlife enthusiasts and coastal nature admirers, this whiskered face brings a little seaside character to every homecoming.
