Cirneco dell'Etna Doormat #1 | Sicilian Hound Welcome Mat

The Cirneco dell’Etna, often simply called the Cirneco or Sicilian Hound, has a wonderfully alert look, with tall ears that seem ready for the next interesting sound. This small, athletic hound comes from Sicily, where it traditionally hunted rabbits across the rugged terrain around Mount Etna, earning the descriptive name Sicilian Rabbit Dog. Its short coat and light, agile build suit the island’s warm climate and rocky ground. Away from a tempting scent, the Cirneco is known for affectionate, playful companionship, bringing plenty of personality to life at home.

This Cirneco dell’Etna peeking coir doormat features a Sicilian Hound peeking from the left edge, with a gently tilted head, tall upright ears, expressive eyes and a long, tapered muzzle inside a black rectangular border. Picture those familiar ears greeting visitors before your own hound comes to investigate; explore related designs in our Hounds Collection, Sighthounds Collection and Dogs Collection.

Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A thoughtful housewarming, birthday or holiday gift for Cirneco dell’Etna lovers and Sicilian Hound enthusiasts, this alert portrait brings a little hound character to every homecoming.
