Croeso cynnes i bawb #1 | All-Weather | Welsh Welcome Mat

Croeso cynnes i bawb — pronounced KROY-so KUN-ess ee BAWB — means "a warm welcome to all" in Welsh, and it is one of the most inclusive and generous expressions in one of Europe’s oldest living languages. Where Croeso simply says welcome and Croeso Cynnes adds warmth, Croeso cynnes i bawb opens the door to everyone — a sentiment deeply rooted in the Welsh tradition of hospitality. Welsh is a Brythonic Celtic language spoken continuously for over 1,500 years. It survived the Acts of Union of 1536 and 1543, which banned it from official life, and the 19th-century Welsh Not — a wooden token used to punish schoolchildren caught speaking their native tongue. Today, Welsh is co-official across Wales and spoken by approximately 900,000 people, with phrases like Croeso cynnes i bawb embodying the open, welcoming spirit the language has always carried.

This all-weather doormat features Croeso cynnes i bawb in a bold, characterful design that brings the warmth and inclusivity of the Welsh language to any front door.
