French Bulldog Doormat #1 | Frenchie Welcome Mat

The French Bulldog — also known as Frenchie, Frenchy, Bouledogue Français, French Bulldogge, and French Bull — is one of the most popular companion dog breeds in the world, consistently ranking among the top breeds in the UK, USA, and Australia. Despite the name, the French Bulldog was developed in England in the 1800s by lace workers in Nottingham who bred miniature Bulldogs as lap dogs. When many of these workers emigrated to France during the Industrial Revolution, they brought their small Bulldogs with them, where the breed was further developed and gained its distinctive bat ears and compact, muscular frame. Recognised by the American Kennel Club in 1898 and the Kennel Club in the UK, the French Bulldog has since become a beloved fixture of city apartments and family homes alike — affectionate, adaptable, and endlessly entertaining.
