Gray Fox Peeking Doormat #1 | Grey Fox Welcome Mat

The Gray Fox, also spelled Grey Fox and known as the Common Gray Fox, has a woodland party trick you might not expect: it can climb trees. Known scientifically as Urocyon cinereoargenteus, this nimble fox uses curved claws to grip bark and make its way into the branches, earning the fitting nickname Tree Fox. Look for its grizzled coat, reddish accents and black stripe along the tail to tell it apart from its better-known Red Fox relative. Usually out and about around dusk or after dark, the Gray Fox is just as happy finding fruit as hunting small mammals or snacking on insects.

This Gray Fox peeking coir doormat features a fox peeking from the left edge while standing on a rocky ledge, with upright pointed ears, expressive eyes, finely detailed fur and a bushy tail inside a black rectangular border. Explore related designs in our Wildlife & Farm Animals Collection.

Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A thoughtful gift for Gray Fox lovers and woodland wildlife enthusiasts, this detailed portrait brings a little forest character to every homecoming.
