Great Horned Owl Peeking Doormat #1 | Peeking Tiger Owl Welcome Mat

The Great Horned Owl, scientifically known as Bubo Virginianus and nicknamed the Tiger Owl, is a powerful bird of prey found across much of the Americas. Its distinctive feather tufts look like horns but are not ears, which sit concealed beneath the feathers on either side of its head. Equally adaptable to forests, deserts and suburban green spaces, this owl often takes over old nests built by other large birds rather than constructing its own. Its deep, resonant hoots are a familiar sound after dusk, while specialised flight feathers help it approach prey quietly.

This Great Horned Owl coir doormat features an Owl peeking around a wood-grain edge on the left, with prominent feather tufts, large round eyes and intricate plumage inside a black rectangular border. Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A distinctive, personal gift for any owl enthusiast, far more thoughtful than anything off the shelf.
