Hedgehog Peeking Doormat #2 | Peeking Hedgie Welcome Mat

The Hedgehog, affectionately called a Hedgie or Hedgy, is a small mammal whose protective spines are modified hairs made of keratin. The European Hedgehog (Erinaceus europaeus) and the African four-toed Hedgehog (Atelerix albiventris) are distinct species, not different names for the same animal. These mainly nocturnal foragers use a keen sense of smell to find beetles, caterpillars and other small invertebrates. When threatened, many hedgehogs can curl into a tight ball, using specialised muscles to draw their spiny coat around their vulnerable underside.

This Hedgehog coir doormat features a Hedgehog peeking around a wood-grain edge on the left, with a pointed nose, rounded ears and detailed spines inside a black rectangular border. Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A distinctive, personal gift for any Hedgehog enthusiast, far more thoughtful than anything off the shelf.
