Long-Eared Owl Peeking Doormat #2 | Owl Welcome Mat

The Long-eared Owl (Asio otus) gets its name from the tall feather tufts on its head, not from a pair of oversized ears. Found across temperate North America, Europe and Asia as far east as Japan, it also has populations in parts of northern and eastern Africa, the Azores and the Canary Islands. It raises those tufts when alarmed, adding to its wonderfully alert appearance. This secretive owl is active at night, and in winter several birds may gather at a shared daytime roost.

The Long-Eared Owl Peeking Doormat #2 features an upright owl peeking from the left edge beside a tree trunk, perched on a short branch with its talons clearly visible. Its tall feather tufts, prominent eyes and finely streaked breast feathers stand out in black on natural coir, framed by a black rectangular border with open space to the right. Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A thoughtful housewarming or birthday gift for an owl lover, birdwatcher or woodland enthusiast, this perched visitor brings a little nocturnal character to the doorstep.
