Manatee Peeking Doormat #2 | Gentle Giant Welcome Mat

The West Indian Manatee (Trichechus manatus), also known as the Sea Cow, is a plant-eating Gentle Giant that grazes in warm coastal waters, rivers and estuaries. The Florida Manatee and Caribbean Manatee are its two subspecies, sharing the same broad muzzle and paddle-shaped tail. Their flexible upper lips help them gather seagrasses and other aquatic plants, making the Sea Cow nickname especially fitting. Manatees are more closely related to elephants than to whales, an unexpected family connection for these slow-moving swimmers.

The Manatee Peeking Doormat #2 features a close portrait of a Manatee peeking from the left edge, with expressive eyes, a broad whiskered muzzle and finely drawn skin folds. The detailed black illustration sits inside a black rectangular border on natural coir, leaving an open area of coir to the right. Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A thoughtful gift for a Manatee lover or marine wildlife enthusiast, this Gentle Giant brings a calm coastal touch to a home or seaside cottage doorway.
