Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen Doormat #1 | Little Griffon Welcome Mat

The Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen, usually shortened to PBGV, comes from the Vendée region of western France, where a small hound needed plenty of determination to follow rabbits through thick cover. Its low build helped it work close to the ground, while its rough coat offered protection from the region’s brambles and undergrowth. The breed shares its heritage with the larger Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen but developed into a distinct, smaller hunting companion. Affectionately known as the Happy Dog, this lively Little Griffon still brings that cheerful spirit and nose-led curiosity to family life today.

This Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen peeking coir doormat features a PBGV peeking from the left edge, with tousled eyebrows, long hanging ears, expressive eyes and a shaggy, bearded muzzle inside a black rectangular border. Picture that familiar scruffy face greeting visitors before your own hound comes to investigate; explore related designs in our Hounds Collection, Scent Hounds Collection and Dogs Collection.

Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A thoughtful housewarming, birthday or holiday gift for Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen lovers and PBGV enthusiasts, this shaggy portrait brings Little Griffon character to every homecoming.
