Rainbow Trout Peeking Doormat #1 | Trout Welcome Mat

The Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) has a remarkable double life: some fish stay in freshwater, while others travel out to the ocean. The ocean-migrating form is known as Steelhead, returning to freshwater to spawn. Young steelhead hatch in gravel-bottomed rivers and streams with fast-flowing, well-oxygenated water. Unlike many other Pacific salmonids, steelhead can survive spawning and make the journey again in later years.

The Rainbow Trout Peeking Doormat #1 features a spotted Trout peeking from the left edge with an open mouth, bold fins and splash details around its head and body. The black illustration sits inside a black rectangular border on natural coir, leaving an open expanse of coir to the right. Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A thoughtful housewarming or birthday gift for an angler, Trout enthusiast or someone who enjoys time beside a river, this lively fish brings a little fishing-day character to the doorstep.
