Red Fox Peeking Doormat #1 | Peeking Red Fox Welcome Mat

The Red Fox — also known as Vulpes vulpes, True Fox, Common Fox, Eurasian Fox, American Red Fox, European Fox, British Red Fox, Eastern Red Fox, Silver Fox, Cross Fox, Reynard the Fox, Tod, and Bushytail — is the most widely distributed wild carnivore on earth, found across Europe, Asia, North America, and Australia. With a fossil record stretching back over 400,000 years, the Red Fox has lived alongside humans throughout recorded history, appearing in the folklore, fables, and mythology of virtually every culture it inhabits — most famously as Reynard the Fox, the cunning trickster of medieval European literature. Adaptable, intelligent, and unmistakably striking with its flame-red coat, white-tipped brush, and amber eyes, the Red Fox is equally at home in ancient woodland, open farmland, and urban back gardens. Few wild animals are as instantly recognisable — or as quietly captivating.

This Red Fox coir doormat features a Red Fox peeking in from the side edge of the mat. For wildlife and nature doormat styles, explore our Wildlife, Farm Animals & Nature Collection.

Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways — not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A distinctive, personal gift for any Red Fox admirer — far more thoughtful than anything off the shelf.

2. What makes this doormat unique?
The design features a Red Fox peeking in from the side edge of the mat — a playful, characterful detail that sets it apart from mass-produced welcome mats — printed on natural coir fiber, giving each mat the warm, textured look of a quality handcrafted piece rather than something you'd find in a big-box store. 3. What sizes are available?
This doormat comes in three sizes: 16x24" / 41x61cm (ideal for apartment doors and side entries), 18x30" / 46x76cm (the most popular size, fits most standard front doors), and 24x36" / 61x91cm (great for wider entryways and double doors).

4. Can this mat be used outdoors?
Natural coir performs best in covered or sheltered entryways — a covered porch, a recessed doorway, or an indoor hall. It is not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use where it would be subject to direct rain or standing water. If you need a fully weatherproof option, please contact us.
