Scottish Deerhound Peeking Doormat #1 | Deerhound Welcome Mat

The Scottish Deerhound — also known as the Deerhound or Highland Deerhound, and often called the Royal Dog of Scotland — was developed to pursue red deer across Scotland's rugged landscapes. Its long legs and deep chest gave this sighthound the speed and stamina needed to cover open ground. A harsh, wiry coat helped protect it from the Highland weather, giving the breed its wonderfully shaggy appearance. Despite that impressive hunting heritage, Deerhounds are known for a gentle, dignified manner and a fondness for stretching out at home.

Our Scottish Deerhound Peeking Doormat #1 | Deerhound Welcome Mat features a Deerhound peeking from the left edge with shaggy eyebrows, folded ears, expressive eyes and a long bearded muzzle. A black rectangular border frames the detailed portrait on textured natural coir, giving visitors a familiar whiskery greeting before your own hound comes to investigate; discover more canine designs in our Hounds Collection and Dogs Collection.

Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways — not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A thoughtful housewarming, birthday or holiday gift for a Scottish Deerhound lover, this shaggy portrait brings a little Highland hound character to an indoor entrance or sheltered porch.
