Scottish Wildcat Doormat #1 | All-Weather | Highland Tiger Welcome Mat

The Scottish Wildcat — also known as the Highland Wildcat, Highland Tiger, British Wildcat, British Wild Cat, Scottish Mountain Cat, Scottish Forest Cat, British Tiger, and in Scottish Gaelic as Cat Fiadhaich — is one of Britain’s most rare and iconic wild animals. A subspecies of the European wildcat (Felis silvestris grampia), the Scottish Wildcat has roamed the forests and moorlands of Britain for thousands of years, long predating human settlement. Once widespread across the British Isles, centuries of habitat loss, persecution, and interbreeding with domestic cats have reduced the pure Scottish Wildcat to critically endangered status — with fewer than 300 believed to remain in the wild, making it one of the most endangered mammals in Europe. Revered in Scottish folklore and heraldry as a symbol of ferocity and independence, the wildcat appears on the clan crests of several Scottish families and has long been associated with the untameable spirit of the Highlands. With its bold tabby markings, thick bushy tail, and piercing amber eyes, the Highland Tiger is a creature of legend.

Made from heavy-duty woven polyester fibers with a linen look finish and UV-cured inks that keep the design vivid through sun, rain, and everything in between. The 10mm thick construction with heavy-duty non-slip backing keeps it firmly in place on fully exposed porches, front steps, and outdoor entryways where coir mats would not hold up.

A distinctive, personal gift for any Scottish Wildcat household — far more thoughtful than anything off the shelf.
