Shetland Pony Peeking Doormat #1 | Peeking Shetland Welcome Mat

The Shetland Pony, affectionately called the Shetland or Shettie, packs plenty of personality into a small, sturdy frame. The breed comes from Scotland's Shetland Islands, where a thick coat and abundant mane helped it cope with harsh island weather. These little ponies once carried peat and worked on small farms, and many later became pit ponies hauling coal underground. Today, Shetlands are much-loved riding and driving ponies, still bringing that hardy island character wherever they go.

This coir doormat features a Shetland Pony peeking from the left edge, with small upright ears, expressive eyes, a heavy forelock and a shaggy mane inside a black rectangular border. Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A thoughtful gift for Shetland Pony lovers and equestrian enthusiasts, this shaggy little face brings a welcoming touch of pony personality to every homecoming.
