Shire Horse Peeking Doormat #1 | Peeking Shire Welcome Mat

The Shire Horse, often simply called the Shire, is an English draft horse with a gentle-giant reputation to match its impressive size. Before tractors and motor lorries took over, these powerful horses helped work farms and haul heavy loads through busy streets. Shires became especially familiar pulling brewery drays, a tradition that a few breweries still keep alive today. Their feathered lower legs and calm, steady nature have made them enduring favourites at agricultural shows and heavy-horse displays.

This coir doormat features a Shire Horse peeking from the left edge, with upright ears, expressive eyes and a flowing forelock and mane inside a black rectangular border. Looking for horse doormats? Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A thoughtful gift for Shire lovers, heavy-horse enthusiasts and equestrian fans, this expressive portrait brings a little gentle-giant charm to every homecoming.
