Sphynx Cat | Go Away, Peasants Doormat #4 | Bald Cat Welcome Mat

The Sphynx — also known as Felis Catus, Felis Silvestris Catus, Alien Cat, Naked Cat, Hairless Cat, Sweater Cat, Bald Cat, Bat Cat, Dobby, Mr. Bigglesworth, Bingus, Suede Cat, Velvet Cat, and Yoda — is a breed like no other. Originating from a natural genetic mutation in Toronto, Canada in 1966, the Sphynx was selectively developed through careful breeding programs in North America and Europe over the following decades. Despite their otherworldly appearance — wrinkled brow, enormous bat-like ears, lemon-shaped eyes, and a body entirely free of a traditional coat — the Sphynx is one of the warmest cats you will ever touch, their skin often compared to heated suede or velvet. Famously sociable and dog-like in their loyalty, they follow their people from room to room, demand closeness, and have earned a devoted global following unlike almost any other domestic breed.

This Sphynx cat coir doormat features a Sphynx peering — both paws gripping the rim, wide eyes fixed on whoever dares approach — beneath the bold declaration: Go Away, Peasants. It is a design that perfectly captures the Sphynx's famously theatrical, regal personality. Looking for Sphynx doormats? Browse our full Sphynx Cat Collection to find your perfect match. Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this doormat designed for?
This doormat is designed for Sphynx cat lovers — devoted fans of the Sweater Cat, Naked Cat, Hairless Cat, Bald Cat, Bat Cat, Suede Cat, Velvet Cat, and all the other names this extraordinary breed has earned. Whether you know them as Dobby, Mr. Bigglesworth, Bingus, Yoda, or the Alien Cat, this design brings breed pride and a healthy dose of feline attitude to your front door. If your Sphynx has opinions about visitors, this mat announces it in style.

What makes this doormat unique?
Most welcome mats invite guests in. This one tells them exactly where they stand. The Sphynx peers — eyes fixed, expression entirely unbothered — beneath the bold declaration "Go Away, Peasants." It is a design that captures the Sphynx's famously imperious personality with precision: a breed recognised by TICA and the CFA, descended from a 1966 Toronto mutation, and utterly convinced of its own superiority ever since. Printed onto natural coir using UV-cured inks for lasting detail and colour. For more cat doormat styles, browse our Cat Collection.

What sizes are available?
This doormat comes in three sizes: 16x24" / 41x61cm, 18x30" / 46x76cm, and 24x36" / 61x91cm, making it easy to find the right fit for your entryway.

Can this mat be used outdoors?
This natural coir doormat is best suited for covered or sheltered outdoor areas such as porches and covered entryways. Coir is a natural fiber that performs best when protected from direct rain and prolonged moisture. For year-round outdoor use in all conditions, check out our all-weather version of this design.

Why choose a coir doormat?
Coir is a natural fiber made from coconut husks — durable, biodegradable, and excellent at scraping dirt from shoes. It is the traditional choice for front door mats and holds up well in covered outdoor areas. The non-slip backing adds extra stability on hard surfaces, keeping the mat firmly in place through daily use.

Is this a good gift for a Sphynx cat lover?
Absolutely — it makes a brilliantly witty housewarming, birthday, or holiday gift for anyone with a love of Sphynx cats, Sweater Cats, Hairless Cats, or cat-themed home décor with attitude. A distinctive, durable, and deeply personal present for any Bingus or Naked Cat devotee. Tag us at @pupularmats — we love seeing the mats in their new home.
