Suri Alpaca Peeking Doormat #1 | Peeking Dreadlock Alpaca Welcome Mat

The Suri Alpaca — also known as the Dreadlock Alpaca, and the Silky Alpaca, and scientifically classified as Vicugna pacos — is one of the two fleece types of domesticated Alpaca, prized for its long, lustrous locks. Alpacas have been raised in the Andes for thousands of years, providing fibre for textiles long before the rise of the Inca Empire. Unlike the dense, crimped fleece of the Huacaya, Suri fibre hangs in silky, separate locks that give rise to the descriptive nickname Dreadlock Alpaca. These social South American camelids communicate through gentle humming sounds and have padded feet suited to their highland surroundings.

This Suri Alpaca coir doormat features an Alpaca with long locks, upright ears and expressive eyes peeking from a wooden door edge on the left inside a black rectangular border, printed on a natural coir mat in three sizes. Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A distinctive, personal gift for any Alpaca-loving household, this peeking design brings a familiar Andean face and a little farmyard charm to every homecoming.
