Tawny Owl Peeking Doormat #2 | Owl Welcome Mat

The Tawny Owl (Strix aluco) is a round-headed woodland owl you're far more likely to hear hooting at night than spot among the branches. Found across much of Europe and into parts of Asia, it is familiar in England, Scotland and Wales, though absent from Ireland. Broadleaved woods are a favourite home, but parks and large gardens with mature trees can suit it too. By day, it often rests tucked against a tree trunk or among ivy, where its mottled feathers help it blend into the background.

The Tawny Owl Peeking Doormat #2 features an upright owl peeking from the left edge beside a tree trunk, perched on a short branch with its talons clearly visible. Its large dark eyes, rounded facial discs and finely marked breast feathers stand out in black on natural coir, framed by a black rectangular border with open space to the right. Crafted from natural coir fibre (coconut husk), this mat effectively traps dirt and debris at the door. The sturdy non-slip rubber backing keeps it securely in place. Natural coir is best suited for covered or sheltered entryways, not recommended for fully exposed outdoor use.

A thoughtful housewarming or birthday gift for an owl lover, birdwatcher or woodland enthusiast, this perched visitor brings a little forest character to the doorstep.
