Xoloitzcuintli Peeking Doormat #1 | Peeking Xolo Welcome Mat

The Xoloitzcuintli, also spelled Xoloitzcuintle and affectionately called the Xolo, is an ancient Mexican breed with a history reaching back thousands of years. Often known as the Mexican Hairless or Mexican Hairless Dog, the breed actually occurs in both hairless and coated varieties. Its name combines Xolotl, a deity in Aztec tradition, with the Nahuatl word for dog, and Xolos held an important place in beliefs about guiding souls to the afterlife. The breed also appears in the art of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, reflecting its enduring place in Mexican cultural life.

This Xoloitzcuintli coir doormat features a hairless Xolo peeking from the left edge, with tall upright ears, expressive eyes and finely drawn facial wrinkles inside a black rectangular border.
